Top 10 Children’s Movies to watch during Halloween!

“Amma, it’s Halloween today”, screamed Ayaansh as soon as he woke up today. “Give me my costume and let me trick or treat everyone in the building!”

Well, if you are a parent to an excited, about-to-be-5-year-old-boy, you need no details how I would have spent my next 2 hours. With covid situation, there were no Halloween Parties to attend this year and that automatically meant no new costumes too. Mr. A had mentally planned his costume, his tricks and the treats he would accept from all. To his dismay none of the families are celebrating Halloween, so there was no tricking / treating too. All he could get was a handful of chocolates from his father, a made-up, last minute costume by me. This just made him gloomy through the day. This is exactly when my husband suggested that we watch some spooktacular children’s movies together. I had made Oreo cookie-spiders, a scary fruit platter and and some bloody-rooh afza as our refreshment for the movie. And suddenly Mr. A was back in the mood celebrating Halloween and having a merry time with us.

And as I write this blog curating our favorite scary movies that are available in Netflix, Disney Hotstar or Prime, I hope you and your kids have a great time watching these movies too!

  1. Hotel Transylvania Series

This movie is about Count Dracula, who is the owner of a hotel called Hotel Transylvania, which is right in the middle of a forest. He invites some famous monsters to celebrate the 118th birthday of his daughter Mavis. Some famous characters from the books like Frankenstein’s monster and his wife, the Invisible Man, the Mummy, the Werewolf family, etc. appear in the entire franchise. Count Dracula’s dream hotel for monsters and his love for Mavis is endearing to watch, but the actual problem begins when an ordinary guy (human) comes as a guest in the hotel.

The second movie in this series deals with Dracula who is concerned for his beloved half-human, half-vampire grandson, Dennis as he notices that Dennis is not showing any signs of being a vampire.

The third part of the movie is showcased on a luxury monster-cruise, where Dracula meets Ericka, the captain of the ship who belongs to the family of famous monster-hunter Van Helsing that wants to destroy the entire monster race.
